How does dental soft laser work?
Because of its special physical properties, soft laser beam creates biostimulative, wound healing and inflammatory effects in the living tissues. However, all the equipments which are not intended to work on hard tissues (bones) are translated as ‘soft’ in the Hungarian language.
By taking into account the following variety of application areas, we use ‘state-of-the-art’ SIROLaserBlue at our clinic. This is a compact device which allows the combined use of 3 diodes (red, infrared and blue).

One of the major advantages of soft laser treatment is that it highly enhances wound healing, results in rapid epithelisation and is completely painless - thus, it can be applied without anesthetics. It can be used as a complementary therapy when it comes to major oral surgeries or we can use it during implantations. However, it is of crucial importance that we previously perform careful clinical examinations and carry out an accurate diagnosis. Thanks to this modern technology, laser treatment is as easy to apply when it comes to poorly accessible and hidden areas. Laser’s medicinal property when treating dental pockets
With the help of high-performance laser and a special thread, laser beams might be easily transferred even to the deepest points of dental pockets. Thus, proliferated bacteria in the deeper parts of these pockets can be destroyed as well. The inflammation ceases inside those pockets that had been treated / cleaned by laser and gums around the given tooth become tight and healthy. Laser has a beneficial, biostimulative effect as well. With the termination of the gingivitis, we can stop the bone-degrading effect of the harmful bacteria, the remaining tissues regenerate - thus, tooth loss can be prevented as well. Treating periodontitis with soft laser
Usually, a professional tartar removal is sufficient to cease gingivitis. However, if the inflammation shows the signs of an initial or advanced periodontitis, further special dental treatment is strictly necessary as well - tooth cleaning itself won’t be enough. Currently, the most modern technique to treat periodontitis is dental laser. Before starting laser therapy, a professional tartar removal and a periodontal curettage is necessary in each case. Then, inflamed tissues can be cured / ceased with the help of the laser and finally, the gum regeneration begins thanks to the biostimulative effect of the laser treatment procedure. The high-energy laser beam can be positioned well during the therapy - thus, dental pockets will be regenerated once the beam is transferred to their deepest points.
Laser treatment is completely painless in each case, so injections might be avoided.
Laser application during root canal treatment
In more complex cases, (besides applying the traditional steps of root canal treatment) even the poorly accessible root canals are reachable and cleanable with the help of the laser. Dentinal tubules can be closed as well - thus, the usage of laser greatly increases the success of the root therapy and it’s completely painless. Due to its anti-inflammatory effect, it might provide an excellent treatment (or prevention) for root apical lesions and cysts. Treating aphthous ulcers
When aphthous ulcers are treated with laser, the dentist applies the traditional therapy as well. Laser enhances the treatment time and the ulcer reoccurs less often.
